Strategic Advisory Board Member

Mr. Thomas A. Russo is a member of Sterlington’s Strategic Advisory Board and widely recognized as an innovator in the legal profession. He has been honored as the most innovative GC in North America by the FT, for running the best legal department in the world, and as a “Legend in Law”.  His legal career includes stints as regulator, a partner and management committee member of Cadwalader, and an adjunct professor at Columbia business school.
Tom spent the financial crises “strapped into one of the lead cars during the great economic roller coaster ride”.  He was GC at Lehman Brothers from 1993 until the end of 2008.  Then, in 2010 he was named GC at AIG, and he helped lead the successful effort to restore AIG to financial health, while repaying the government’s $182 billion loan as well as a profit of $22 billion.  
Tom is a leading innovator in the legal profession.  He centralized the multi-billion dollar legal budget at AIG, and built an entire team dedicated to process management and technology, both increasing quality and saving hundreds of millions of dollars for AIG.


Founding Partner

Christopher S. Harrison is the founder of Sterlington. He is focused on innovation in law through the use of process management, data analytics, and technology-enabled services.  He is the author of Make the Deal: Negotiating Mergers & Acquisitions, which was published by Bloomberg and ranked as the #1 New Release in Corporate Finance and M&A on Amazon.  He comes to the firm with profound experience, having managed billions of dollars in successful investment transactions during his eight years at Cravath as well as his role as Co-Head of the market-leading asset management M&A practice of Schulte. For nine years, he has been teaching popular courses on M&A at NYU School of Law.



David White is the president of the firm. He graduated from Wharton in 2009 with a B.S. in Economics and received a JD from Columbia in 2012. David has been focused on legal innovation since his early days as a lawyer and before, and started applying his business focus and technology skills to everyday practice even as a junior associate.  He is in charge of developing Sterlington’s legal technology process management systems, and runs our NDA business.


Partner, Director of A.I.

Richard (“Rick”) Canedo is Director of A.I., concentrating on technological solutions to legal services, such as life settlement diligence, general corporate legal management, securities compliance and NDAs. Prior to joining Sterlington, Rick’s practice focused on structured finance and securitizations at Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP.  Rick is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Fordham Law School, where he focuses on the application of legal technology. Before practicing law, Rick was a management consultant at The Boston Consulting Group, founded an online education start-up, and earned a Ph.D. in Philosophy from UC-Berkeley. He graduated cum laude at Duke University and at the Duke University School of Law.  His pro bono experience includes participating in the 2014 Clemency Project and the Ban the Box initiative.


Of Counsel

Erika Burk was previously Counsel at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP where her matters included advising clients and managing litigations related to investment strategies, mergers & acquisitions, and commercial contract disputes.  Erika has a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School where she was Editor-in-Chief of Brooklyn Law Review, a Moot Court Honor Society Member, and a Richardson Merit Scholar.  She also has a M.A. in Political Science from Columbia University and a B.A. in History from Middlebury College.


Of Counsel

Jamie is Of Counsel. He is corporate attorney with over 18 years of experience managing complex transactions and corporate matters at law firms (including White & Case and Sidley) and in-house at asset managers (including Credit Suisse Asset Management and Strategic Value Partners). Jamie earned his law degrees in Canada with “Great Distinction” and earned an MBA from McGill University in 1999. Jamie has an airplane pilot license, advanced scuba diving credentials, downhill ski instructor credentials and enjoys sailing.


Corporate attorney

Timothy J. (T.J.) Henry Jr. is a corporate attorney with Sterlington focusing on the NDA business as well as transactional, financial, and corporate matters. Prior to joining Sterlington, he was Managing Director and General Counsel of Perkin Industries, a boutique private equity firm in New Orleans, Louisiana. Prior to that, he was the Legal and Finance Associate for the New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans. He received his BSM in Finance and Business Law from Tulane University in 2006.  In 2013 he received a JD and an MBA from Tulane University with concentrations in Sports Law and Finance, respectively.



Experienced and Strategic



Tammy has worked at Sidley and Stikeman Elliott and has also served as in-house counsel for a technology company. Her practice focuses on corporate and securities law, including general corporate representation, venture and private equity debt and equity financings, M&A and joint ventures. Tammy also has extensive experience with blockchain related companies and digital currencies.


Alejandro is a Corporate Associate at Sterlington, where he focuses on the NDA business and corporate work.  Prior to Sterlington, his experience included 2 years’ experience at Scotiabank and 2 years in the legal department of an international development bank.  He earned his LLM from the London School of Economics in banking law and financial regulation.


Shiva Prathap graduated from Bangalore University in 2003 with a BA in Commerce, and in 2006 with a Bachelor of Law Degree. Shiva holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Relationship and Personnel Management from Rajendra Prasad Institute of Communication and Management, Mumbai, and Diploma in Cyber Law from Asian School of Cyber Laws, Mumbai.  He has 13 years’ experience in the field of Legal & Corporate Secretarial and Compliance Services, Banking and Trust Services, Contract Management, Electronic Discovery, and Legal Process Management and Research. In his prior work, he has led teams as large as 80 members in contract review projects for top-tier US financial institutions.


Pearla Maung is an experienced litigation paralegal with eDiscovery specialization. After graduating with Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration from the University of Hawaii and acquiring ABA approved Associate degree in Paralegal studies, she spent four years working as a paralegal for various Honolulu law firms. Pearla is a member of the Women in Artificial Intelligence organization and Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society. She was the first recipient of the Paralegal Scholarship Program at University of Hawaii KCC. Pearla speaks Spanish and French.


As a law clerk who has quickly built a successful career path, Carrie McVey has assisted attorneys on cases including corporate law, real estate, and family law. With more than three years of legal clerk experience, Carrie has developed a sharp eye for how businesses get bloated with inefficiencies and miscommunication — and how they can reorganize for a smoother and more efficient workflow. Carrie assists with the intake, organizing and follow-ups for all NDAs processed by Sterlington. Carrie is currently pursuing her BS in International Business at Indiana University.
